About the Event

It’s 10 years ago since I launched my debut album ‘Crossing Borders’ as part of Blas Festival and this year, I’m honoured to have been given the opportunity to write a new commission for the festival.

‘The Legend of Loch Maree’ (Faoinsgeul Loch Maruibhe) is a tale of a local princess who falls in love with Olaf, a Norwegian prince and is the inspiration behind the commission. The story has been illustrated beautifully by the late Highland artist, Margaret Robertson and her painting has hung at home for many years.

I’m delighted to be joined by a wonderful line up of Rory Matheson, Innes Watson, Conal McDonagh and Kathleen McInnes for three special concerts in Lyth, Resolis and Torridon.
