First Responders

We are currently recruiting volunteers.

Please help us to provide this community service.

First Responders live locally and are called out by Scottish Ambulance Service in response to 999 calls to attend certain types of emergency where there is a risk to life. They form the first attendance, trained to stabilise patients prior to arrival of the ambulance from Gairloch or Lochcarron.
A rota ensures two responders are always available by mobile phone whilst going about their daily lives, which involves a commitment of just two or three days a month.

Training in First Aid, Life Support, Resuscitation and the use of Defibrillators is maintained during a 2 hour evening meeting once a month.

You need access to a vehicle, travel expenses are reimbursed.

Volunteers are welcome from the Torridon Medical Practice area – the communities of Kinlochewe, Shieldaig, Torridon, Alligin and Diabaig.

Why not find out how you could help us protect our community?
